Okay I have been in the gym consistently for about a year now. By consistent I mean 5 days a week, 35-40 minutes of weights (with very little if any rest between sets) followed by 30-45 minutes of cardio. I have lost 60 pounds and have been at a plateau for almost 4 months now. I know it is because I am inconsistent with my diet. I crave sweets, chocolate especially. I have given up friend foods and most high fat foods but sweets continue to haunt me and almost control me!!
I receive an eating plan every 4-6 weeks from my trainer. I make it through a day or two then seem to go crazy with sweets. My job is stressful, my personal life is stressful. I turn to chocolate not because I am hungry but because it makes me feel better (at least momentarily). I also struggle with my alcohol intake - maybe drink once a week but when I do my beverage of choice is beer which I know is the worse thing I can drink! But I truly love the taste of beer, like trying microbrews, imports, anything new and different. I don't drink beer for the buzz, I drink it because I like the taste.
Can anyone offer advice on how to overcome these two addictions - chocolate and beer. I very much want to reach my weight goal of 135 pounds. I want to be on stage but never will if I cannot kick the bad habits. Please help!!
