I have officially gained back almost 30 pounds of the 60 I had lost and I am very frustrated. I had some time off from training at the end of 2010. I have been back in the gym fairly regularly since January 1 but still gaining and it is because of what I put in my mouth!
I pack my lunch every day, every Sunday I shop and prepare food for the week based on the diet my trainer provides me. Yet each day I get derailed and fail to stick with it. This morning upon walking to my desk I have to pass three huge boxes of Der Dutchman donuts - and the smell alone is enough to make me cave! I absolutely must get control of my food cravings! I find excuse after excuse. I eat when I am not hungry because I am stressed. It is so out of control, it is like food is my cocaine!
Maybe I am looking in the wrong places for help - maybe I need to be on a website dedicated to food addicts. It seems the majority of people on this site are in control of their food intake. I am here though because I want to have a strong, muscular, fit body. I do not want to be thin - I want to be fit. I feel like I have muscles hidden beneath the layers of fat. I am strong in my workouts and consistent with my training. If I can just conquer the eating part of it I will be on my way to belonging on this site!
During my drive in to work this morning I decided to set new goals and decided I need to write them down so here goes....
1. I will be under 200 pounds by 4/1/2011
2. I will accomplish goal number 1 by eating only what my trainer wants me to eat. The only day I will deviate from my diet will be 3/17 - sorry I am Irish and that is a major beer day for me.
3. I will add back cardio to my daily workouts and will workout with the X-Box Biggest Loser video on weekends.
4. I will increase my water intake to help quell hunger.
5. I will keep diet log on my phone app and if I cheat I will log it - need to see impact of those cheats.
6. I will be on stage in my first Figure competition in 2012.
